"In 2010 our theme is 'working together, learning from each other'; the potential benefits of which are self-evident. This conference is about creating new insights, better understanding and respect for our unique and complimentary knowledge, practices and abilities, whilst improving the way we care for women and families in all settings. While international experience is showing great promise with new approaches to interprofessional education, learning and practice, Australian maternity care developments continue in relative isolation from other disciplines. Now, more that ever before, we are challenged to improve the systems and structures that build better relationships between doctors and midwives."
