- providing direct and easy access to key educational resources for maternity health care professionals.
Plans to provide easier routes to peer reviewed, evidence-based information relating to maternity care, took a further step forward today, with the re-launch of MIDIRS new website - www.midirs.org.
MIDIRS redeveloped site boasts a fresh, contemporary look, with improved navigability, accessibility and usability functions, enabling greater access to content for visitors to the site.
Andy Fisher, MIDIRS Business Manager said ‘Our website is essential in helping us to capture and present what today’s health care professional and student midwife needs in order to assist them in maintaining the highest standards of care for mothers and babies through evidence-based practice. The challenge is always to ensure the site is user-friendly, with relevant content compellingly presented and in keeping with MIDIRS brand identity. In 2010, we hope that this and other activities we have planned, will bring us one step nearer to achieving our mission of assisting in the improvement of maternity care’.
The launch of www.midirs.org represents the final stage of a series of online developments for MIDIRS, which over the past year has seen the emergence of a dedicated e-learning resource for
student midwives, an interactive shop and a free podcast service.
Adam McGahern, MIDIRS IT Manager, who has been heavily involved in the website’s redevelopment commented ‘It has always been our aim to provide users with affordable and easily accessible routes to key, evidence-based information. The new site has huge scope and sees the introduction of new, rich multimedia functionalities and a more interactive resource that will support users in their practice and studies’.
Subscribers to MIDIRS services will benefit from faster access to their personal account details and other areas of the site, without having to go through the standard log-in process. Other key features on the website include links to:
