Essentially MIDIRS - did you know?
Originally posted on Aug 2010
MIDIRS new monthly journal, Essentially MIDIRS, includes a tool for midwives, midwifery students and others working in birth-related fields to record their reading, learning and reflection.
The Personal Reflective Learning Log (PeRLL), a unique and key feature of the journal, is a special two page tear-out section which can be easily removed and used in a personal professional profile or portfolio of learning.
PeRLL includes a Featured Study section, which is always one of the abstracts of a recent research paper from that month’s MIDIRS Update section. In order to reflect upon the questions posed, a copy of the full text article is required. Whether or not you have access to the MIDIRS Reference Database, the full text article can be purchased from MIDIRS for the special price of £2.25 including postage and packing. Recent studies have included:
: Cahill AG, Tuuli M, Odibo AO et al (2010). Vaginal birth after caesarean for women with three or more prior caesareans: assessing safety and success. BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology 117(4):422-428.
Essentially MIDIRS July/August 2010 issue: Cioffi JM, Swain J, Arundell F (2010). The decision to suture after childbirth: cues, related factors, knowledge and experience used by midwives. Midwifery 26(2):246-255.
The September issue of Essentially MIDIRS is due out on 25th August 2010.
