National Health Service Litigation Authority
The NHSLA handles negligence claims and works to improve risk management practices in the NHS.They are also responsible for resolving disputes between practitioners and primary care trusts, giving advice to the NHS on human rights case law and handling equal pay claims on behalf of the NHS.
A key function for the NHSLA is to “contribute to the incentives for reducing the number of negligent or preventable incidents”. We aim to achieve this through an extensive risk management programme.
