BBC Radio 4’s “File on 4” current affairs programme on Tuesday 1 June at 8pm will be looking in depth at how the causes of stillbirths and neonatal deaths are currently investigated in the UK.
“File on 4” will be asking why the UK has some of the highest rates of stillbirths and early neonatal deaths in Europe and why many of these deaths are not being properly investigated.
Several Sands parents have kindly contributed to the programme as have key members of the Sands staff team, as well as many key obstetricians, researchers, perinatal pathologists and specialist law firms.
The programme will contribute further to raising awareness of the issues surrounding baby loss and it is hoped generate further debate and ultimately action on how to reduce the consistently high stillbirth and neonatal death rates in the UK.
