Introducing MIDIRS new website
- providing direct and easy access to key educational resources for maternity health care professionals.
Plans to provide easier routes to peer reviewed, evidence-based information relating to maternity care, took a further step forward today, with the re-launch of MIDIRS new website - www.midirs.org.
MIDIRS redeveloped site boasts a fresh, contemporary look, with improved navigability, accessibility and usability functions, enabling greater access to content for visitors to the site.

Maternal death (19/11/2009)
Thankfully, maternal deaths are extremely rare in the United Kingdom. This is the result of many years of painstaking work by professionals, who have constantly reviewed their own working and organisational practices to help identify and reduce risk for women.
The Iolanthe Midwifery Trust Student Award – supported by MIDIRS
In 2009 the Iolanthe Midwifery Trust and MIDIRS joined together in supporting student midwives in their education through access to national and international experiences within midwifery practice, so that mothers, their babies and families receive the highest standards of care.
Applications for the 2009/2010 awards will appear on the IMT website in November for a January 2010 submission.
