This Webinar was held on 28/06/2007Writing anything at all is often seen as associated only with the arduous task of completing the assignment or dissertation. It is often hard and stressful work which does not always seem to have much purpose - being read by only the lecturers and a few committed colleagues perhaps. This webinar will explore the main types of papers taken for publication, offer tips on how to present your work to make your article robust, as well as reader friendly, and demonstrate how being successful in getting an article published can be a really uplifting experience in the end!
Biography: Sally Marchant
Sally has been MIDIRS Editor since December 2002, so this September will be her 19th issue of the Midwifery Digest, which as Sally says “Is quite a lot of offspring!”
Sally’s background is in clinical midwifery, research and education, all of which are highly useful within her current role. While Sally has used the analogy of being a sort of ‘parent’ in her role as editor, she wishes to point out that she is just one part of the editorial team. The Digest would not be produced without Val Dickens, Copy Editor, Ann Smythe, Publishing Officer, Steve Clayton, our Graphic Designer, and the support, knowledge and input from MIDIRS editorial board. Sally’s whole philosophy as an editor is to facilitate communication and knowledge through writing.
I’m actually going to add a bit onto this, because although she hasn’t mentioned it, Sally also plays a key role in the development of MIDIRS Informed Choice content. Each Informed Choice review is rigorous and Sally’s support, and the extensive research and editorial skills that she brings to the process are greatly valued…..
She also makes fabulous cakes!
