Celebrating the Portland Hospital’s 21st anniversary - special Family Open Day - 03/17/2004
The Portland Hospital is opening the doors and welcoming visitors to its first Family Open Day on Sunday 6th June from 10am to 4pm. An opportunity to visit the UK’s largest, private maternity unit and a leading, paediatric facility within the only London hospital entirely dedicated to the care of women and children.

Guests are invited to tour the hospital’s extensive facilities including the new Women’s Outpatient Centre, the recently refurbished maternity ward and full paediatric services, together with intensive care for children and high dependency care for adults. Visitors can also take a look at the Imaging Services department where amazing 3D/4D ultrasound technology produces accurate video images of babies whilst in their mother’s womb.

Consultants and medical representatives from the maternity, paediatric and women’s health departments will be available to meet visitors throughout the day, offering one to one advice sessions and seminars on topical healthcare issues such as breastfeeding, child nutrition and family first aid.

The day promises fun for all of the family with children’s entertainment, a crèche for younger children and complimentary massage or reflexology treatments for adults in the Physiotherapy department. Ladies will also receive a special goodie bag to take home, packed full of exclusive products and healthcare information. Refreshments will be available throughout including morning pastries, a buffet lunch and afternoon tea.

Judy van den Broek, Chief Executive of The Portland Hospital comments 'Following on from the success of our Pregnancy Open Day in September 2003, I am delighted to welcome visitors to our Family Open Day to join us in celebrating the very special occasion of The Portland Hospital’s 21st anniversary'.
