Midwives will be able to do the module online, which provides information about how the virus can spread, the symptoms, and ways the risk of CMV can be reduced during pregnancy.
The e-learning module takes approximately one hour to complete, and offers midwives an insight into their role on how to reduce the impact of CMV.
This will include information on how to reduce your own risks if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, spotting the signs of CMV and an understanding of what happens when a baby is diagnosed with the virus.
Midwives who pass the e-learning module (75% or more) will receive a certificate to include in their portfolios.
Members of the Royal College of Midwives, you can download the e-learning module here.
Alternatively, .pdf version of the module can be found via the CMV Action website.
