This meeting aims to:
– Explore the impact of the first baby on the woman/mother, through pregnancy and birth towards becoming an established family, from physiological, medical, psychological and cultural aspects, and referencing the structure of healthcare.
– Present items of current research, and general interest, on the subject of first time parents, and offer opportunities for in-depth discussion between speakers and delegates.
– To gain an awareness of issues and current research specific to the first time mother, partner and baby in the transition to the new family.
– For the delegates to have ideas that they can implement in their field of work.
