Midwives across the UK are being encouraged to apply for The Florence Nightingale’s Foundation’s Leadership and Emerging Leaders programmes.
Midwives and nurses can apply for a general scholarship if they are registered with either the NMC or HPC and are a UK resident and work within the country.
Health Education England National Leadership scholarship
This is a new scholarship introduced by the Florence Nightingale Foundation and is being offering to midwives seeking to build on their leadership skills, create a professional impact, and be willing to contribute to the Health Education England on a national workforce project.
Chief Nursing Officer England BME Leading scholarship
Midwives who are from a black minority ethnic background, who are registered with the NMC and live and work within England and apply for the Chief Nursing Officer England BME Leading scholarship.
This scholarship aims to develop and enhance leadership skills, define long term career objectives and offers the opportunity for midwives to take part in a patient care improvement project.
Emerging Leaders programmes
The Burdett Trust for Nursing Emerging Leaders programme is open to applicants with a nursing or midwifery background who are living and working in the UK.
Nurses and midwives are required to be within band 7 and 8, and must have completed a frontline leadership development programme.
Specialist Leadership scholarships
Midwives are welcome to apply for the Specialist Leadership scholarships, offering a selection of opportunities around the UK.
This category includes The Professor Dame Christine Beasley Leadership Scholarship, supported by the London Network for Nurses and Midwives. This is available to employees who are working within the capital and specialise in patient care. Applicants must be working at an organisation funded by the NHS.
