The six-hour workshop at Cossham Memorial Hospital, Bristol, invites midwives to discuss ways to give men a better insight into childbirth, to make them more involved.
During the day, Mark Harris will present exercises that can be taught to men when it comes to the fight or flight response. Plus how to teach men specific birth subjects while they maintain a deep connection with their partner.
The workshop will also explore the evolutionary biological understanding of the ‘masculine/feminine dance’ when men and women live together.
Mark Harris is one of just 100 registered male midwives in the UK and is the founder of Birthing4Blokes which provides antenatal classes specifically to prepare men for fatherhood.
His book ‘Men, Love & Birth’ will be available to buy at this event at a discounted price of £8.99.
Tickets are available via the Eventbrite website, with early bird and student discount rates available.
Tea, coffee and cake will be provided on the day, but attendees are asked to bring their own lunch.
BumpsnBabies are hosting the event on Sunday 21 February 2016 from 11am to 5pm.
