Midwives in England and Wales will be voting this week to decide whether to take industrial action in protest at the government’s refusal to grant a pay rise.
Ballot papers are going out today, and midwives have until 29th September to cast their votes in what represents the first such ballot in the 133-year history of the Royal College of Midwives.
We’ve set up a mini-poll which is free for anyone to vote in, whether you’re an RCM member or not. Please note, this IS NOT the official RCM ballot. Only RCM midwife and maternity support worker members in England are able to vote in the ballot, and those that are eligible have been sent ballot papers in the post.
