The National BAME Health and Care Awards 2019 are now accepting nominations.
The awards recognise the achievements of medical, health and social care professionals who provide high standards of healthcare practice.
It also promotes the mainstream acknowledgement the contribution of BAME staff and the promotion of good practice in improving services to BAME patients and communities.
The awards will be awarded to those who show exceptional initiative and leadership by people who are change drivers.
Award winners will be given access to an on-going peer support and professional development programme to encourage further career development.
Nominees must either be a current employee or team in an NHS or social care service in the statutory, voluntary or private sector in the UK.
Nominees can be put forward for more than one award category, but each nomination requires a separate entry.
As part of the nomination process, the person nominating a group or individual must write no more than 250 words on why the nominee meets all the criteria specified for each category.
The award categories are:
- Compassionate and inclusive leader
- Ground-breaking researcher
- Outstanding student / apprentice
- Inspiring diversity and inclusion lead
- Integration innovator
- Clinical champion
- Digital champion
- Inspiring service user or patient
- Health & wellbeing promoter
- Workforce innovator
Nominations must be received by Wednesday 18th September 2019.
The National BAME Health and Care Award will be held Thursday 17th October 2019 in London.
