The University of Salford Midwifery Society has announced the 4th annual student-led conference, ‘Resilience: showing strength in the face of adversity’ focusing on the theme of resilience.
The ‘Resilience: showing strength in the face of adversity’ conference will be highlighting the challenges maternity services are facing from cost-cutting measures to meeting high demand.
There will also be an opportunity to learn ways of coping with challenges, as well as celebrating the achievements of midwifery professionals.
The day will be led by Practising Midwife Sheena Byrom OBE, with presentations from Professor Mavis Kirkham, Dr Jacque Gerrard, Professor Billie Hunter, Sascha Wells, Sally Pezzaro and One to One Midwives.
During the day, delegates will be able to take part in various group sessions which will be announced nearer the date of the event.
The exhibition includes: Pinter & Martin, the Royal College of Midwives, and the Association of Radical Midwives.
A raffle will also be held to raise funds for the University of Salford Midwifery Society.
Tickets start from £15 for midwifery students and is free for the University of Salford Midwifery Society members.

The conference will be held at the Mary Seacole Building, University of Salford, Frederick Road, Salford, M6 5ST on Friday 7 April 2017.
Registration for the event will begin at 8:30am and is expected to finish at 5pm.
