It’s been all change at MIDIRS recently with the launch of our snazzy new website. But that’s not all that’s changed – we’ve also tweaked the names of our two literature search services. Our popular Standard Searches are now known as (drum roll please…) ‘Search Packs’, while we now offer a ‘Bespoke Search’ service instead of our aforenamed Special Searches. Don’t worry, the benefits to you remain exactly the same. But if you haven’t taken advantage of these great time-saving products before, let us remind you exactly what they can offer you.
With almost 200,000 articles on our Reference Database, we know how important it is that you’re able to quickly access the very latest materials on a whole range of maternity topics – and this is where Search Packs come in.
Our team of information professionals allocate each new midwifery article we receive into a relevant Search Pack. So for instance, if we’re adding an article to the Database about midwives in the Australian outback, we would also allocate it to the ‘Rural Midwifery’ Search Pack. If you then ordered that particular Pack, the details of that article would be right there along with almost 200 others relevant to rural midwifery.
We currently have more than 800 Search Packs available, and add a new one every month. All the usual suspects have a Pack – such as water birth and the active management of labour; but also more specialist areas of interest like hospital security and simulation-based training.
If you’re after something more specific, however, then why not try one of our Bespoke Searches? If you have a deadline approaching or would simply prefer to utilise the specialist skills of our information team rather than searching the Database yourself, then we can help. Simply give us the details of your requirements, and we’ll do the searching for you.
There is a charge for this service, but for your money you’ll be able to sit back and relax knowing that your search is being taken care of for you by someone who knows the Database inside out.
Full details of both of these services can be found in the Literature Searches section of our website.
Of course, we’re also here for you if you have any general enquiries about the Reference Database, or need help putting a search together. Either email us using our Contact Form, or give us a call on freephone 0800 581009 (+44 117 9251791 overseas).
