Hosted by Birthrights, the UK organisation dedicated to improving women’s experience of pregnancy and childbirth by promoting respect for human rights, the forum is held in collaboration with the White Ribbon Alliance to mark Global Dignity Day when people worldwide explore challenges to human dignity and encourage best practice.
The Forum begins a national debate about dignity in childbirth in the UK. Leading experts and practitioners from diverse fields, including human rights lawyers, health professionals, academics, campaigners and policy makers will be attending.
As part of the programme, a ground-breaking survey carried out by Birthrights of 1,000 women on their experiences of respect and choice during childbirth will be presented.
Speakers include: Davina McCall, Lesley Page, President of the Royal College of Midwives, Mumsnet, White Ribbon Alliance, British Institute for Human Rights.
