RCM Student Midwifery Forum launches midwifery societies poster competition

on 27 June 2022

The Royal College of Midwives Student Midwifery Forum (SMF) has launched a competition inviting Midwifery Societies to submit abstracts that can be turned into a poster or infographic.

The theme of this year’s RCM Annual Conference is ‘Recover, Reflect, Renew’. Midwifery Societies who wish to enter are asked to create an abstract that can be turned into a poster or infographic on the theme of renew.

All successful posters or infographics will be displayed at the RCM Annual Conference 2022 which is being held 5-6th October in Wales.

How to enter

Abstracts should be on the theme of renewing midwifery. The judging panel are particularly interested in ideas or initiatives in one or more of the following areas:

  • How students view the future of midwifery?
  • What midwifery societies are doing to make midwifery more inclusive?
  • What actions have you taken to reduce your impact on the environment and play your part in becoming more sustainable?

The judges will be looking at high levels of innovation, relevance and ideas that can be applied to practice.

If your submission is accepted, at least one member of your Midwifery Society should be able to the RCM Annual Conference in October to pitch ideas.

The winning Midwifery Society will receive £100.

Submit an abstract of no more than 500 words for consideration to: events@rcm.org.uk.

The deadline for submissions is Sunday 31 July 2022.

It is highly recommended that you book your place at the conference when you submit your abstract to avoid disappointment. More information about entering and booking your place can be found here.
