The Pure Foundation Fund to recognise midwives launched by WaterWipes®

on 17 November 2020

The Pure Foundation Fund has been launched by WaterWipes®, a bursary scheme that aims to recognise midwives and allied health professionals in the UK and Ireland.

The bursary fund is £2,500 in the UK or €2,500 in Ireland which will be given to the midwives’ and their department to continue improving maternity care for women, babies and their families. The fund could be used for purchasing new equipment, producing resources for parents, fund continuous professional development or further research into pregnancy, baby care or neonatal care to name a few examples.

Midwives who are awarded a bursary will also receive a WaterWipes® Pure Foundation Fund plaque to recognise their hard work and commitment to maternity services.

Two midwives will be awarded the bursary – one midwife can be nominated by their colleagues or even nominate themselves, and another will be nominated by new or expectant parents.

On their webpage, WaterWipes® say: “The COVID-19 health crisis has highlighted the importance of human connection. The pandemic has opened people’s eyes to the dedication of our healthcare heroes who have gone above and beyond to provide support, compassion and care for others.

“These are the hands that touch the lives of expectant and new parents, both physically and emotionally. From the first scans and antenatal care; to the hands that deliver the baby, care for a premature baby and support parents and newborns when they leave the hospital.”

More information about how to nominate a colleague or yourself for The Pure Foundation Fund can be found here.

New and expectant mothers are also being encouraged to nominate a midwife or allied health professional to receive the funding. Parents who nominate a winning midwife will receive a 6-month supply of WaterWipes®.

Parents or expectant parents can find more information here.

Deadline for entries is Monday 30th November 2020.
