NHS England has set up a Maternity Transformation Programme to implement recommendations from the National Maternity Review – Better Births.
The Better Births recommendations, which were published in February 2016, aim to make maternity services safer, personalised, transparent and more family-friendly.
The recommendations also highlighted how digital technology could be used to assist maternity professionals in providing high-quality care.
Midwives are being encouraged to take part in the Harnessing Digital Technology Survey, as part of the Maternity Transformation Programme, to collect views of those who collect, use or hold maternity information online in a professional capacity.
The data will be used to create future digital services for midwives and allied health professionals, as well as developing a digital strategy under the Maternity Transformation Programme.
The beginning of the survey will ask for positive experiences of using online information for professional purposes.
NHS England is also seeking views on challenges, problems and frustrations midwives face to obtain information.
All questions are optional and feedback is given anonymously.
To take part in the survey, follow the instructions here.
The deadline for feedback is Thursday 19 January 2017.
