We have an important and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic; highly motivated and dynamic senior midwife with expert clinical and leadership skills, to join our team. This position coordinates a busy, high acuity unit of approximately 7,500 births a year. The position will be focused upon ensuring responsive; best practice service to the communities we serve.
This is a senior role, requiring proven leadership skills and quality improvement initiatives to optimise the use of resources which ensure the provision of a woman centred; efficient; effective and high quality service. Previous exposure to clinical governance processes would be advantageous.
Key criteria for success in this position:
- Extensive best practice midwifery clinical experience
- Experience in management/co-ordination of a busy maternity care unit
- Capacity to innovate; inspire and motivate your team within a ‘Healthcare Excellence Framework’
- Strong, clear communication skills, with the ability to influence
- Sensitivity and knowledge of working within culturally diverse populations
- Eligibility for registration as a qualified Midwife in New Zealand
Eligibility for registration as a qualified Midwife in New Zealand is essential.
You will have excellent communication skills with the capacity to innovate, inspire and motivate others. Knowledge of the NZ Maternity system and significant proven midwifery experience in secondary and tertiary care is essential. You will be a role model with strong leadership skills and flexibility; this combined with optimum use of resources will ensure the provision of efficient, effective and quality healthcare to women and their families/whanau
